How long have you been a BECU member?

I have been a Member since 1990.

You mentioned that you have been able to downsize to become full-time RVers. What is the one piece of advice you would share with others who would love to follow in your footsteps?

Take your time when it comes to downsizing. Tackle it in small chunks. We didn't know we would choose full-time RV life when we first started. We downsized from our 1,800 sq. ft. home after my husband retired to an 875 sq. ft. apartment, then even farther down to 275 sq. ft. all in 5 years. Downsizing got easier once we got to down to only the essentials and favorites of all our possessions. We still keep a small 5x5 storage for all the favorites and most of the essentials are with us in the RV.

If you could retire anywhere, where would it be?

Even though we have been traveling the U.S. in our RV and we still have so much more to see! We would choose our home state of Washington because that is where all of our children and grandchildren live, and we love spending time with our family.

If you had to eat one meal, every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Eggs, turkey bacon, and toast.

What has been the best piece of financial advice you have ever received?

It has taken us a long time to change our money mindset, and we are working right now on getting debt free through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University plan. It's all in the baby steps and budget.
