What You'll Need for Membership

To complete the membership application, you must be 18 years old or older and have:

  • Valid U.S. government-issued ID such as a driver's license or state-issued ID.
  • Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN)
  • Contact information, such as a street address and phone number.

Have you placed a security freeze on your credit?

BECU will pull a soft credit inquiry for all applicants' background checks. It will not affect your credit score. If you have a credit freeze, you must temporarily release it to apply.

USA Patriot Act

Federal law requires that we obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account, including joint owners. What this means to you: Within this application, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents. Approval of your application may be delayed pending further verification of your identity.

Have more questions? We're here to help.

*To open a checking account, you must establish membership by opening a regular Member Share savings account or Member Advantage savings account. A Member Advantage savings account is automatically attached to your Member Advantage checking account.

**Member Advantage requires at least one transaction per month of one of the following: direct deposit, debit card transaction, online or telephone banking. See Account Disclosure for details (PDF).
